We
are separated from God. Every day, our actions and words
separate us from God. Everything we say, we do, or we fail to do
that falls short of God’s
perfect, holy standard is sin. This means that we are all sinners. [For
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans
3:23] It
doesn’t matter if your sins are big or small, all sin is
the same to God, and His judgment for sin is death. [For
the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23] This means that
we are separated from God, and on our own, we have no hope of eternal
life with God after our lives on earth are finished.
Eternal life through God's only son. Our
loving God sent us a way for our sins to be forgiven,
in the person of His only son, Jesus Christ. Jesus, who was sinless
and perfect, died on the cross as payment
for our sins. He died for every single one of us, and for every
single one of our sins, and through Him, we have the gift of life
in heaven after our death. [For
God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John
3:16].
Receive
the gift of life. How do you receive this gift of eternal life?
Simply by beginning a personal relationship with Jesus. Acknowledge
that you are a sinner, in need of forgiveness, and invite Jesus
into your heart. [If
we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us
our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1
John 1:9]
You might want to say a prayer something like this, “Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner. Thank you for dying on the cross for
me. Please forgive my sins and come into my heart so that I may
live every day for you. Amen.” [I
have come that they may have life and have it in abundance. John
10:10b]

please share this with a Christian friend. Continue to speak to
Jesus daily through prayer. Learn more about God through His Word,
the Bible, and find a church where the Bible is the basis of all
that is taught. [Devote
yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossians
4:2]
